SefaShare works on your Mac — not in our cloud.
01Who we are
SefaShare is a macOS menu-bar app made by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the SefaShare app and the sefashare website handle, and — just as importantly — what they don’t.
If anything here is unclear, email [SUPPORT EMAIL] and a person will answer.
02Your screen stays on your Mac
To build the Audience View, SefaShare needs macOS Screen Recording permission. It uses Apple’s ScreenCaptureKit to capture your display, removes the windows you’ve chosen to hide, and shows the result in a window your meeting app can share.
- Every frame is processed in memory on your Mac and discarded immediately.
- Frames are never recorded, saved to disk, or uploaded — not to us, not to anyone.
- Window titles and app names are read only to show you the list of windows you can hide. They stay on your Mac.
03What we never collect
SefaShare doesn’t have accounts, an analytics SDK or a cloud backend. We do not collect:
- Screenshots, screen recordings or video frames
- The contents of any window or document
- Window titles, app names or the list of windows you hide
- Meeting names, participants or what you present
- Your location, contacts, camera or microphone
- Advertising identifiers or cross-site tracking data
04What we do handle
There are a few moments where some information does leave your Mac. Here is all of it:
name, email, billing country, payment method
license key, a random installation ID, app version
whatever you choose to send
IP address, browser, pages requested
Diagnostics are local unless you share them
SefaShare keeps a small diagnostic log on your Mac (for example: permission state, when capture started or stopped, error codes). It never includes screen images, window contents or full window titles. Nothing is sent automatically — if you choose Settings → Copy diagnostics and paste it into an email, we’ll use it only to fix your problem.
05Permissions on your Mac
SefaShare asks for one permission: Screen Recording. Without it the app can’t create the Audience View. You can turn it off any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording.
Your preferences — like protected apps, shortcuts and launch-at-login — are stored locally in macOS’s standard app preferences. Deleting the app and its preferences removes them.
06This website
The SefaShare website has no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies. It remembers only one thing in your browser: whether you’ve already seen the intro animation in this tab (session storage, cleared when you close the tab).
The site serves its own typefaces, so your browser doesn’t contact Google or any other font service when you visit.
08Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to see, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you (in practice: purchase records and support emails). Email [SUPPORT EMAIL] from the address you used and we’ll respond within 30 days.
If you’re in the EU, UK or a similar jurisdiction, you can also object to processing or complain to your local data-protection authority. Some purchase records must be kept for tax reasons even after a deletion request; we’ll tell you if that applies.
09Children
SefaShare is a work tool and isn’t directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
10Changes to this policy
If we change how SefaShare handles information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant — for example, if we ever added optional analytics — we’ll say so in the app’s release notes before it takes effect, and it would never include screen content.
